Getting Started with the Claude GitHub Actions Plugin

Prerequisites​

  1. Claude Code / Claude Desktop (Code tab) on a Pro or Team account
  2. GitHub connected via Claude Settings
  3. Recommended: Claude Code CLI (npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code)

Installation​

git clone https://github.com/TeamFleetStudio/claude-github-actions.git ~/.claude/plugins/marketplaces/fleet-studio
claude

Inside the Claude session:

/plugin marketplace add ~/.claude/plugins/marketplaces/fleet-studio
/plugin install fleet-git-workflow --project
Restart required

Restart Claude Code after installing the plugin before the new slash commands show up.

Verification​

  • Typing / in a project-connected Claude session shows new-branch, feature-branch, commit, stage-pr, prod-pr in the autocomplete list
  • /commit "test message" stages current changes and creates a commit
  • /stage-pr pushes the current branch and opens a PR into dev

Troubleshooting​

Issue: Commands don't show up after install

  • Solution: Restart Claude Code; confirm /plugin marketplace add pointed at the right local path

Issue: /stage-pr or /prod-pr fails to create a PR

  • Solution: Confirm GitHub is connected in Claude Settings and gh auth status succeeds in the environment Claude Code runs in
